Welcoming Connections

project logo and tagline

Job Skills, with the funding support of United Way, Toronto and York Region, was pleased to offer a series of three workshops and a one-day forum to enhance the capacity and resources of individuals, groups, staff and volunteers supporting the resettlement of Syrian Refugees in York Region. The programs provided training and offered a space for networking, exchanging information and sharing best practices and successes.

The workshop series helped Private Sponsors (and those considering sponsorships) to acquire information and resources needed to facilitate the successful integration of Syrian Refugees in York Region. Through the one-day forum, staff and volunteers of agencies that serve and support refugees were offered an opportunity to enhance their skills, increase their knowledge base and create a greater awareness of the wide range of specialized resources and supports available in the Region.
