Practice Firms at Job Skills

Job Skills’ Practice Firms No Longer Accepting New Clients

After careful analysis and consideration, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, has decided to no longer fund Practice Firms across Ontario. As a result of this decision, Job Skills’ 3 Practice Firms  — Simpressions (Markham), Simfit (Mississauga) and Simplicious (Scarborough) —  are no longer accepting new clients as of March 9, 2012.

Please note: Job Skills will continue to support existing clients with their Practice Firm experience and follow-up until the end of July.

Job Skills would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those community partners who supported the Practice Firm model over the years and referred clients to this unique opportunity for workplace experience.

After the post-intervention tracking period is complete, the Practice Firm staff will refer clients who still need assistance to their Employment Advisors at the closest EOES site.

If you require further information or have additional questions about Practice Firms, please do not hesitate to contact:

or

These programs include: Employment Support Services and Job Search Workshops at the Welcome Centres in York Region; Bridge to HR, a Bridging Program for Internationally Trained Human Resources Professionals, and Employment Services through the Employment Ontario Employment Services sites, and the Ontario Self-Employment Benefit (OSEB) program.

Thank you,
