REACH at Job Skills
A special opportunity for people with international education and credentials
in Dufferin, Halton and Peel


If you have international training and professional credentials and are ready for work in your career of choice, then consider REACH. This 14-week program of concentrated learning and targeted workplace experience is specially designed to help you succeed in the Canadian labour market. You will work in a supported environment to position yourself for success in the Canadian workplace, hone your occupationally-relevant English language skills, and build a network of professional contacts in your field.

Are you:
currently unemployed or under-employed?
between 22 and 45 years of age?
internationally educated/trained with credentials?
legally entitled to work in Canada?
a resident of Canada for less than 5 years, living in Dufferin, Halton or Peel?
ready to work but lack Canadian experience in your field?
able to communicate well in English?
committed to securing employment in your chosen occupation or profession?

REACH can assist you with finding employment in your field. During this 14-week program, Participants will:
• interact in workshops about...
   - Canadian workplace cultures and practices
   - the Canadian labour market
   - the job search process
   - occupationally-relevant English
   - credentials assessment
• complete a 60-hour work placement
• share their existing knowledge and skills with each other
• build a professional support network
• receive on-going one-on-one coaching
• gain the confidence necessary for long-term career success.
