Cameron L. was hired by a theatre, as an office assistant to a General Manager in February 2016. She was one of the first youth to participate in the Job Skills’ Youth Job Connection Program. After graduating from high school she knew she was not motivated, had no clear direction about a future career goal, and lacked self-confidence. She didn’t know where to go, until she found Job Skills’ Youth Job Connection Program.
Her own words say it best.
Job Skills and the Youth Job Connection Program gave me so much advice and encouragement to be the person that I can be. They knew that I had the potential that I didn’t see in myself. They worked with me one-on-one to help me realize that I can do what I think I can’t. I had a really hard time doing interviews, (so) we did quite a few mock interviews together. They taught me how to properly speak with people and come across as a professional individual.
If someone were to ask me about the Youth Job Connection Program and asked me my opinion if they should go to it, I would tell them most definitely. Because though the program may not be for everybody, it never, ever hurts to try... and it’s an awesome program. It does really boost confidence and help people realize the potential that they didn’t realize they had. And if someone asked me about that program I would 100% recommend it, any day!
Her future dreams are really big now – maybe even Hollywood, some day.
