Employers – Canada-Ontario Job Grant

The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) program provides direct financial support to individual employers who want to purchase training for their workforce. Employers choose the employees they would like to have trained, and the training that meets their workforce development needs. They then work with Job Skills to establish whether the training qualifies for financial support, and to what level.  

Employers with 100 or more employees contribute half of the training costs. Smaller employers with less than 100 employees contribute 1/6 of training costs. The government covers up to 5/6 of direct training costs, to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee for existing employees or up to $15,000 per trainee for new, previously unemployed trainees. 

The COJG program—a program of both Canadian and Ontario governments—is delivered through cost-sharing agreements between employers and the Ontario government. Eligibility requirements apply.
