A Job Skills hiring event is a free, customized recruitment event built around your business. We learn what you're hiring for, find and pre-screen candidates who fit, book their interview times, and host the event. All you have to do is log in and interview the people we've lined up for you.

At a job fair, you wait at a booth and hope the right people walk by. At a Job Skills hiring event, every candidate has already been screened against your criteria and has a booked interview time with you. It's built for your roles only, so you're not competing with other employers for attention.

It's a great fit if you need to hire quickly, you're struggling to fill a particular position, you're hiring more than one or two people, or you want to screen candidates before meeting them in person. Businesses of all sizes and industries use it, and it works whether you're filling several roles or just one.

We start with our own pool of pre-screened, job-ready clients and add targeted outreach through community networks, online job platforms, and social media. Our specialists review resumes and hold pre-screening conversations, so you only meet candidates whose skills and experience match what you told us you need.

Just show up and interview. We book the date, schedule each candidate, send the Zoom details, and manage the flow of the day. You log into Zoom at your scheduled time and meet your candidates. We take care of the rest.

No. Our virtual hiring events run on Zoom, and all you need is a computer or phone with a camera and an internet connection. If you haven't used Zoom before, we'll walk you through it before the event.

Job Skills works with employers across York Region, Peel Region, and the Greater Toronto Area. We have offices and employment services centres in Newmarket, Markham, Stouffville, Keswick, Brampton, and Mississauga, and our virtual events let us connect you with candidates from across the region.

We debrief with you on every candidate, talk through who you'd like to move forward with, and map out next steps. Once you've made a hire, we can help with onboarding and training coordination, and we stay involved afterward with coaching, workplace accommodation support, and retention strategies.

There may be. Job Skills can connect you with wage incentives that help offset onboarding and training costs for eligible hires. Eligibility depends on the candidate and the role, so ask your employer relations specialist when you book your event.
