Module 4: Internet Safety: Privacy and Security

Advance your digital skills in the workplace and in your personal life. Learn about the tools and skills needed to navigate the internet safely.

Module 5: Networking and Job Searching Online

Enhance your online job search strategies, increase your knowledge of social media platforms and advance your skills. Participants will learn how to effectively network and job search online.

Module 6: Microsoft Word and Excel Basics

Increase your confidence when navigating Microsoft Office applications including understanding the basic tools for formatting, structuring documents, charts and gathering data. Gain the knowledge to advance the optimization of applications in your personal and work life.  

Module 1: Computer Basics: Introduction to Windows

Develop your skills by familiarizing yourself with computer basics. Participants will have the opportunity to upgrade their digital skills to function successfully in both the workplace and personal life.

Module 2: Communicating on Email and Social Media

Understand the fundamentals of online platforms, tools and best practices. Participants will advance their online communication skills by deciding what platforms work best for their needs and how to optimize those platforms.

The Youth Entrepreneurship program gives promising young entrepreneurs access to resources and skills providing the best chance for the success of their new businesses. You’ll have the opportunity to start your own business during this six-month program.

ELIGIBILITY

Participants are referred to the YEP by an employment consultant at an Employment Ontario Employment Services (EOES) centre

• Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive)
• Out of school
• In need of assistance to overcome barriers to employment
• Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
