If you answered yes to any of these questions, Opening Doors presents a series of free workshops running from January 21st through March 24th. (Details can be found here) Opening Doors is a project with the main goal of improving employment outcomes for newcomers in York Region. The project partners include: COSTI Immigrant Services; Catholic Community Services of York Region; Job Skills Employment and Business Services; Seneca College; Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council; and Workforce Planning Board of York Region & Bradford West Gwillimbury (formerly York South Simcoe Training and Adjustment Board). Throughout its years of operation, Job Skills-Employment Services and Supports has established a strong community presence and continuously works to strengthen its relationships with Employment Service providers, social service agencies, the business community, educational institutions, municipalities and all levels of government. These relationships make it possible to assist clients to reach their employment goals, achieve economic self-reliance and participate in community life. Job Skills’ Programs and Services are provided at no cost to unemployed individuals and are funded by the Government of Canada as well as the provincial and municipal governments and the United Way of York Region. Funds are also generated through special initiatives. |
