The York Region Welcome Centres offer free employment support for newcomers who are looking for work in Canada. If you need help finding a job or planning your career, we are here for you.
The Employment Settlement Service (ESS) connects you with an Employment Specialist who will work with you one-on-one to build a personal job search plan. There is no cost to you.
How We Can Help
Your Employment Specialist can help you with:
- Learning how the job market works in Canada
- Writing or updating your resume for Canadian employers
- Preparing for job interviews
- Building your professional network
- Connecting to language classes, credential recognition, and other settlement services
- Exploring retraining, apprenticeship, and mentoring programs
- Finding out if you qualify for financial support during your job search
