Turn Your Job Search From Guesswork to Success – Try Job Skills’ Right Fit for You Program!

Young job seekers often face a number of challenges when it comes to finding employment. These challenges can range from a lack of experience and networks to age discrimination and limited job opportunities. In addition, young people with disabilities or complex barriers may face even more barriers to entering the workforce.

However, there is help and hope for young job seekers. Job Skills’ Right Fit for You program is specifically designed to support young people with disabilities or complex barriers to become self-sufficient and find suitable employment. Let’s take a closer look at how this program is helping young job seekers overcome the many barriers they face.

The Right Fit for You program is a 20-week program that offers small group and individual sessions for young job seekers. These sessions provide skills training, mentoring, coaching, work experience placement, and follow-up support in four distinct phases: Self-Exploration/Career Planning, Employment Preparation, Job Coaching/Targeted Job Search Techniques, and Job Placement.

During the Self-Exploration/Career Planning phase, young job seekers start by identifying their strengths and interests. In the Employment Preparation phase, they are equipped with key job search skills like resume writing and interview techniques. This is followed by the Job Coaching/Targeted Job Search Techniques phase where young job seekers receive one-on-one job coaching and learn targeted job search techniques to find their ideal employment opportunity. Finally, in the Job Placement phase, the program works closely with partner organizations to place young job seekers in suitable employment.

In addition to in-person support, Job Skills offers an e-learning platform that provides knowledge and information to help job seekers succeed in their job search. This platform covers everything from interview etiquette to digital literacy and is designed for today’s job market.

The Right Fit for You program is designed specifically for youth job seekers with disabilities or complex barriers. However, it is not just about finding employment. The program also helps young job seekers become more self-sufficient and confident. Many participants report increased self-esteem, better communication and problem-solving skills, and more positive attitudes towards employment.

Finding suitable employment can be a daunting task for young job seekers, especially for those with disabilities or complex barriers. However, with the support of Job Skills’ Right Fit for You program, young job seekers can overcome these barriers and find their path. From skills training and job coaching to work experience placements and follow-up support, this program provides young job seekers everything they need to become self-sufficient and find suitable employment.
