I have recently started my job search and need to start a job as soon as possible. I want to ensure I’m doing the right things and give myself the best chance to land a job interview. – How can I increase my odds of landing a job interview?
It’s impossible to predict when you’ll receive a call for a job interview. However, there are some things you can do to make your resume pop and give you an edge when you’re applying for jobs.
If you have read my previous blogs, I’m going to sound like a broken record, but the short answer is your resume is everything. It would be best if you customized your resume for each position you apply for. You also want to ensure that you focus your job search and stick to your strategy.
Maximize your odds by spending 4-6 hours per day job searching. Customize your resume and cover letter for the job you’re applying to. This will lead to you applying to 2-3 jobs per day. Focus on quality, not quantity. It can be tempting to send the same generic resume to every job, but that will minimize your chances of landing a job interview.
